The Nature Reserve of the State "Astroni's Crater" has been istitued by the ministry of environment decree n° 422 of 24/07/1987, with which WWF Italia has been designated as administrator.
The administration of the Nature Reserve is supported by a Technical Scientific Commitee, in which are represented the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, WWF Italia and Campania Region , which is the proprietary of the crater.
Located in the Pozzuoli Municipalty ,the Nature Reserve is bounded by the Regional Park of Flegrei Fields and it is included by Agnano crater on the east, mount Spina on the south, Pianura on the north and mount Barbaro on the west.
