The city of Naples provides citizens and tourists many opportunities along its coast: the cliffs and beaches of the Riviera di Chiaia and Mergellina, wooden decks of the historic shores of Posillipo, with its rugged banks of tufa, coves with piersand docks, the great beach Coroglio-Bagnoli.
Bathing in the city can be practiced in various forms and ways throughout the west-central coast, with free admission beaches with municipal services, and beaches with payment services. The coast of Naples, which is the part of the city closer to the sea, extends from the east of Portici (Pietrarsa), to the west of Pozzuoli (La Pietra).
Like all coastal areas, the entire territory is subjected to numerous constraints and environmental protection of the architectural characteristics of the places. Due to its complexity andrichness, it can be observed from many point of view historical, architectural, botanical.
