On monday 24th september 2012, there will be at PAN, Palace of Arts of Naples, the brand new exhibition by the artist Oreste Zevola, called EDEN.
The expositive project, by Maria Savarese, in cooperation with "Fabbrica delle Arti, it's sponsored by the Assessor to the Culture and Tourism of Comune di Napoli that, considering the prestige of artist, will host the event at Pan.
At the first floor, about thirty works divided into fifteen small and fifteen big formats, realized with the technique of cardboard carving. Zevola gives form to an original conceptual interpretation of the Eden described in old texts and transmitted, during the time, from traditions of all over the world.
Metamorphic creatures live in this paradise, zoomorphic outlines mix to figures of human outlines, symbols derived from very ancient culture, make themselves ibrid causing new spreading outlines, contemporary chimeras that suggest new horizon of sense: they arrives from very far away and go between the artist's mind.
The dual, the ambivalence/coexistence of good and evil, the divine and the evil one, life and death, pain and delight; recurring thems in Zevola's work, come out particularly, giving back an atypical edenic vision that englobes sacred emblem and tribal symbologies, forms of plant and animal life, enigmatic simulacrum, tie to the origin of man. During the exhibition, there will be a meeting between the artist and spectators in which Zevola will talk about his background and the creative process of Eden project. Later, in 2013, the exhibition will be presented in Paris at the Musée du Montparnasse.
