From 12th to 29th october 2012 at Castello dell'Ovo in Naples it's mounted the exhibition "Pietro Guida. Sculpture and drawings".
Arranged by Francesco Abbate, the exhibition highlights the poetry of daily thru a series of works realized by the artist in seventy years of activity.
The event rapresents an important tribute to a master of italian sculpture that exhibits in the regional capital after ten years of absence and oblivion of criticisms and local historiography.  Contextually will be arranged seminars of reflection on the Guida's work and on the Group of South by "Centro Studi Giovanni Previtali". At the end of exhibition, some works of the artist will merge into the Museum of Fine Arts of Naples and in the Museum of 900' at Castel Sant'Elmo.

Guida was born to Santa Maria Capua Vetere in 1921. He is part of "Group of South", the association of employed intellectuals in the renewal of a cultural view of Naples after the war. He debutted with a figurative production of a expressionist taste. In 60's and 70's, he lives a phase abstract- constructivism, using brand new materials that comes from construction and steel industry. Following the return to a figurative plastic that connotes his current work. From 1949 he lives and works in Manduria (Ta), in Puglia.
