"Ex Voto"

Third appointment of 2014 for the exhibition "Interstitial spaces"

 

"Ex voto" from March, 1st on the facade and inside the PAN- Palazzo delle Arti di Napoli. The appointment is the third one of 2014 and it belongs to the exhibition "Interstitial spaces", an innovative way of expressing art curated by Beppe Palomba for Accademia della Bussola.

The show, after "Bandits" and "Fairies & Mermaids" crowns the first part of this exhibition season providing to Naples nine large banners from the balconies on the third floor on the facade of the Palazzo Roccella in Via dei Mille.

The theme is "Ex Voto for Contemporary Miracles" and it intends to propose, in an absolutely contemporary way, ex-voto, the symbol of a debt of gratitude and together with the balance of the debt itself. Each Artists, free to express themselves with every type of technique, brought new life to this ancient custom of thanksgiving with inventive freshness and authentic participation.

When we talk about ex-voto, we think about naive images, an art made of troubles and tragedies avoided thanks to the miraculous intervention of a higher entity

 

In this modern age, apparently so stingy of sensational miracles, artists have the task of interpreting even the daily miracles, those related to ordinary reality, the ones that do not require extraordinary interventions of heaven.
An empty seat in a free parking, a "scratch and win" lucky, a job a little 'less precarious, the rediscovery of one's identity, an unexpected smile from a neighbor's obnoxious ... these graces so upbeat contemporary hosanna and realize votive gifts.

The Artists are: Domenico Aquilino, Marlisa Palomba, Alessandra Binini, Lorenzo Cataneo, Bruno Bruno, Giancarlo Frezza, Elisabetta Palmieri, Flora Palumbo, Dario de Cristofaro, Luigi Montefoschi and Manuela Vaccaro. They walk on trails that trace the newspaper with a new anthropology, a smile that does not exclude, but rather stimulates a careful reflection on contemporary world.

The exhibition will open on March 12th at 5.00. Vistors will have the possibility to visit it till March, 20th.

"Ex Voto"

Tercer encuentro de 2014 para la exposición "espacios intersticiales"

"Ex voto", del 12 de marzo en la fachada y la Sala del Pianofoerte del PAN Piano - Palazzo delle Arti Napoli. El tercer encuentro de 2014 para la exposición "Espacios Intersticiales", un formato innovador comisariado por Beppe Palomba para la Academia Bussola.

La exposición, después de "Bandidos" y "Fábulas y sirenas" representa la primera parte de esta temporada de exhibición, dando el viento y la luz de Nápoles nueve grandes pancartas bajadas desde los balcones de la tercera planta en la fachada del Palazzo Roccella, en Via dei Mille.

El tema es "Ex Voto para Milagros Contemporáneos" y pretende de forma absolutamente contemporáneo, ex-voto, presentar el símbolo de una deuda de gratitud. Cada uno de los artistas, libre de expresarse con las técnicas que más considera adecuada, ha dado nueva vida a esta antigua costumbre de acción de gracias con la frescura creativa y auténtica participación.

Cuando se habla de ex-voto viene a la mente el arte naïf, donde los problemas y las tragedias se evitan gracias a la intervención milagrosa de un alguna entidad superior.

En esta era moderna, que tan necesita milagros, los artistas tienen que interpretar incluso los milagros diarios, es decir los milagros relacionados con la realidad ordinaria, los que no requieren intervenciones extraordinarias del cielo.

Un asiento vacío en un aparcamiento gratuito, un "rasca y gana", un trabajo con menos precaria, el redescubrimiento de la propia identidad, una sonrisa inesperada ... estas son las gracias que llevan a realizar ofrendas votivas.

Los artistas participantes son Domenico Aquilino, Marlisa Palomba, Alessandra Binini, Lorenzo Cataneo, Bruno Bruno, Giancarlo Frezza, Elisabetta Palmieri, Flora Palumbo, Dario de Cristofaro, Luigi Montefoschi y Manuela Vaccaro. Los artistas cruzan senderos que trazan la cotidianidad con una nueva antropología, con una sonrisa que no excluye, sino que estimula una cuidadosa reflexión sobre el mundo contemporáneo.
 
La exposición se abre 12 de marzo a las 17.00 horas y será visible en la fachada del PAN y en las salas hasta el 20 de marzo.
