The Department of Culture of the Municipality of Naples presents a reading by Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion, founders of planetary motion 100 thousand poets for change

Started in 2011 with a call to action on facebook, 100 Thousand Poets for Change, a global artistic movement that is shaking the conscience of the world on the role of art for social change, summoning artists from various disciplines, including poetry from every corner of the planet, with Stanford University curator of a huge global persistent archive. "People everywhere look for a positive change," say the founders of the movement, Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion, who will be in Naples on May 13th with a reading at the Foyer of the Teatro San Carlo, at 6pm, sponsored by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Naples and Albeggi Edizioni.

At the reading, opened by Councillor Nino Daniele, will take part Valeriano Forte, coordinator of the initiative in Salerno, and the actress Annarita Chierici, who will give voice to some of the poems of the Antology dealing with peace, human rights, environmental sustainability, ethics, economy and labor.
The anthology won the National Award for Contemporary Author promoted dall'Alexandria Scriptori Festival. In addition to Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion other poets in the collection are Lucianna Argentino, Claudio Arzani, Fabio Barcellandi, Carlo Bordini, Marisa Cecchetti, Marco Cinque, Massimiliano Damaggio, Andrea Garbin, Giuseppe Iannarelli, Giovanna Iorio, Roberta Lipparini, Gianmario Lucini, Gabriella Modica, Paola Musa, Benny Nonasky, Guido Oldani, Paolo Polvani, Valeria Raimondi, Riccardo Raimondo, Ottavio Rossani, Francesco Sassetto, Adriana Scanferla, Jamshid Shahpouri, Christian Sinicco, Angelo Tonelli, Caterina Trombetti, Claudia Zironi.
Among the various readings there will be Paolo Polvani's verses, dedicated by publisher to Antonio Formicola, the florist who set fire by jumping from the balcony of the Town Hall of Ercolano. The two poems, titled "The Burning Man" and "The Railing", were written and chosen before the tragic incident happened: after, in their terrible topical, seemed really a photograph that no one would could and should be forgotten. They will be symbolically donated to the family.
