Naples is love, change, rebellion, stimulus, history. In this way Andy Warhol paid homenage to the city and today, the creative Neapolitan contemporary avant-garde want to support the artist with a great tribute.
In light of this sensitivity, the Department for Children and Youth, Creativity and Innovation will propose an exhibition during the month of May at the Palace of the Arts in Naples, in conjunction with the exhibition "Andy Warhol. Storefronts ".
The exhibition, titled NAPLES CREATIVE CITY in Pop Art, follows the Department for Young aim, or in other words, to give voice to the creative productions and many talents that belong to the city of Naples. The exhibition will focus on culture and pop art in such a way as to animate the exhibition itself and to understand it through the eyes of the present time.
NAPLES CREATIVE CITY in Pop Art will have four main events related to the themes of Communication, Fashion, Music and Urban Creativity. They will respectively take place on May 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th from 6pm to 7.30pm. Each event will be presented by a famous journalist.
The virality of beauty, the avant-garde in the image, Naples as inspiration, color as a tool, will be the contact point between the protagonists of the exhibition and Andy Warhol. After the closure of the space of Pan, the meeting will continue until 9 pm in the streets of the city: "Andy ai baretti." A way to tie the nightlife to cultural and institutional offer, a way to contaminate urban spaces with the cultural values of the Warhol and his relationship with Naples.
Thanks to this event, young people and pop art will form an explosive pot for the city of Naples, a place that Warhol really loved, because it reminded him of New York, a cosmopolitan city in constant turmoil.
