5th Municipality: 20th Edition of the PEACE WALK
ON MAY 22nd MORE THAN 2000 WILL TAKE PART TO THE PEACE WALK OF ARENELLA AND VOMERO
"Twenty years running" for the rights of near and far children. This is Unicef aim, in order to fight the hardships and to educate children to solidarity.
The Junior Council of the 5th Municipality was born from the synergy between UNICEF and the 5th Municipality, which already twenty years ago gave confidence to young, children and youth in general. Currently the Junior Council is presided over by a young student of the middle school Maiuri, Sabrina Spinosa, who coordinates a group of about thirty councilors representatives of primary and secondary schools of the 5th Municipality.
On the occasion of the 20th edition of the Peace Walk, elementary and middle schools and for the first time G.B. Vico High School, will take part to the walk, whose theme chosen by Unicef is "Welcoming and Integration."
On this issue a conference was held in March at the Acacia theater, an event organized by teachers and students of the schools of the territory.
On May 22ns, 2014, more than 2,000 children, accompanied by school principals and teachers will take part to the event, that also represents an occasion to talk about children who live dramatic situations and those who live in Syria, to whom it will be possible to make some donations at the Unicef gazebo in Piazza Vanvitelli.
The walk will start at 10am at Piazza degli Artisti, then it will touch Via Luca Giordano, Via Scarlatti and it will end at Piazza Vanvitelli.
Representatives of the institutions of the 5th Municipality, the President UNICEF Campania, Margherita Dini Ciacci, the Delegate of the 5th Municipality, Clara Di Bernardo, Unicef ambassador, Mario Porfito and young volunteers will also take part to the event.
