The Elena Beach at via Posillipo is a well known beach in Naples. It was open in Naples in 1840 for heliotherapeutic reason, or in toher words, to breathe the fresh air of the sea. From Friday June 6th until June 13th, 2014, at Castel dell 'Ovo, in the Terrace Hall, it will be possible to appreciate a collection of postcards and pictures that immortalize this beautiful place in Naples. The material of the exhibition was given by Morra family, that since the '50s runs the beach. The exhibition "Poscards from Elena Beach" collects images and photographs ranging from the mid XVIII century to the '20s of the XX century. The images show a Posillipo of the past, a place without cars, with art nouveau buildings and places of rare beauty. The Italian Post Office, Poste Italiane, will be present at the opening on June 6th presenting special postacrds and stamps as well. |
