Scipione Bobbio

Scipione Bobbio was a professsor at the "Federico II" University of Naples, where for a long time h taught Electronics.

A great believer in the unity of scientific thought, his interests ranged from Physics to Engineering and the results of his research, which are contained in numerous publications, are internationally appreciated. An active moverin the spread of scientific and technological culture, Professor Bobbio was also committed to social work.

Naples owes the start-up of the information services of the Commune to his work as a Town Councillor, an office he held during Bassolino's first period in office as Mayor. To him were delegated huma resources, organisation, information services, the decentralizing of municipal organisation including oversight of various services:personnel, demographic, statistics, administrative decenralization.

 
His commemorative tablet can be seen on the third floor of Palazzo San Giacomo, in a room that the municipal administration has dedicated to Profesor Bobbio in memory of the man and the scientist.
