Instances of sculpture realized between the XIX and the XX century, are in the areas of representation of the Palace.
Those that remeber the neapolitan officers decorated of gold medal for military bravery are, except for one, on the second floor in the vestibules that come before the Town Council Hall. They were made in 1930s of the last century and in the same period the municipal Administration decided to dedicate a square in the area Arenella to the memory of the heroes of the Armed Forces awarded the highest honours for valour.
The names of the streets which lead to "Piazza delle Medaglie d'Oro" were given to honour the memory of some of the heroes whose busts can be seen in Palace San Giacomo.
In more recent times, one of the seven busts, the one of Ugo Niutta, was removed from the second floor and placed in a room protected by a gateon the first-floor landing of the Palazzo's main staircase.
