Giacinto Gigante Academy of Naples, with the cooperation of Culture Assessorship of The Muncipality district of Naples, has organized the first big restrospective exposition of neapoltan artist Alfredo Avitabile, with this title: ALFREDO AVITABILE - UN MAESTRO DEL SECONDO '900.
The inauguration will take place on saturday 9th february at 11 a. m, at Complesso Monumentale di San Severo al Pendino in via Duomo n. 286 - Naples. There will be all the institution authorities and the main exponents of Culture and Art of Campania. In that occasion will be presented the monographic volume about Alfredo Avitabile with Antonella Bocola and Margherita Balestrieri critics.
A cocktail/buffet will gladden the event inauguration. The opening will be opened to the public until 22th february with the following time: monday/ saturday 9 a. m/ 6 p. m all- day opening.

From Alfredo Avitabile' s death two years ago, Giacinto Gigante Academy pay tribute to his founder and regretted President, with a big retrospective exposition, which collect about one hundred works among the most important ones of his artistic way. A complex exposition, which has needed an hard work to catalogue works and documents, strongly requested by artist' s family and welcame with interest by the mayor of Naples, that has conceded her defence together with Provincia of Naples. The discovery and the reaffirmation of the high artistic merities of the painter Alfredo Avitabile are a plus value that Naples and the Culture of Campania can' t forget and they have to appreciate their complexity and integrity.
