The exhibition of estemporary painting "San Giorgio... in pittura" was born after a eight-year long period. Every year since 2000, the city of San Giorgio has been protagonist of an event to which artist coming from different cities have participated and have realized pictures to represent the City through pictures that have always been symbol of its history: from Massimo Troisi to the historical Villa Bruno and Villa Vannucchi.
Prof. Angelo Calabrese, scientific Director, says: "About these eight editions lived among considered steps and shared enthusiasms, back to memory meaningful moments, meetings, witnesses of united friendship thanks to whom me and those of the Pro Loco have make possible "so much" of what was considered impossible. - goes on Prof. Calabrese - eight adventures performed among big and small difficulties. The important is that the project has been carried on, a never ending project that reached the necessary turning points, nothing loses about its history. Now the Pro-loco of San Giorgio can boast a collection of estemporary painting. The City is interpreted according to the time changing and trasforming spaces in existential conditions, in comparisons seeming to be an accusation against deterioration and in the magnificence of history". Calabrese concludes "For the estemporary painting it needs heart, creativity, brain, executive rapidity, partecipative enthusiasm and goliardery... in short everything forms part of the spirit of Pro-loco.
Gennaro Improta, President of Pro-loco says: "It's the first step toward an itinerant exhibition. An exposition is already foreseen, nearby Palazzo Reale in Piazza Plebiscito, in November, while in December, San giorgio... in pittura will arrive in the halls of the Presidencies of Regional Council of the Campania Region. I strongly wish to thanks Ferdinando Riccardi, that is the mayor of the city of San Giorgio a Cremano, because for eight years has supported our initiatives and in a particular way the exposition of estemporary painting". To the collection of the winner works will be added the exposition of masters' works: Viktoria Bubnova, Attilio Canale, Rino Ferrazzo and Gianluca Martucci.
