"Spirito e Spiriti di Napoli" Tridimensional photographic exposition
edited by Donato Maniello, Vincenzo Pinelli

edited by Assessorato alla Cultura del Comune di Napoli - Studio Architettura

One soul... two spirits. Two techniques, only one way to perceive a determinate reality. With a series of 3D photos an essence can be explored, something impossible to say with word, hard to describe, the vital breath of an elusive city, the energy of the city of Naples. Thanks to the 3D photos related to the places, to the Spirit, we can explore and come in it, to feel the air, to breathe a highly suggestive atmosphere, made of places, enviroments, architectures, details and monuments, through photos which interpret this connection by the same particularity of the photo: the percepition of the third dimension by the use of suitable glasses provided during the exhibition. This way the attention of the observer is caught on those places normally assigned to passage, where absently body and mind pass. The other section is dedicated to the people, to the Spirits, and it's made by white and black and bright colour, contrasts which underline a strange, paradoxical, tacit and lively city. The people, the Spirits, unusually are not associated to noisy situations, the crowd is absent, they have a private dimension, they don't talk. It's the interaction, the symbiosis between place, usually the street, and the human, to be under exam. The simultaneous presence and absence of the man is stopped by the immediate and permanent click of the photography. The colour represents the passing insant, escaping without be seen; the chromatic capacity is capable to make evident what is imperceptible, to render the intagible side of the human essence. A subjective lecture of Naples arises that in the same time wants to point out in the Spirit, in the particular, in the architectonic space, the element of objectivity. What can be touched and seen is associated to the part of the photos on the human presence that appears and disappears. The soul of Naples is composed by Spirit and Spirits, by substancial but dark and mysterious subjects and objects.
