Ethnos - Ethnic Music International Festival, was born in 1995 with the aim to recover the archaic traditions of the Vesuvian area. It became, since then, one of the greatest observatories of ethnic music and among music festivals one of the most important and awaited in Italy, which carries on the conviction that music makes easier the communication and supports meeting between cultures.
The festival, which traditionally takes place on July, is an itinerant manifestation followed by 40.000 spectators every year, that starts from Naples and spread to the communes of Portici, Ercolano, San Giorgio a Cremano, Torre del Greco, Torre Annunziata, Pompei, Castellammare di Stabia, Pomigliano d'Arco and it's sponsored and backed by Campania Region, the Province of Naples, the National Park Board of Vesuvio, and by the Patto del Miglio d'Oro.
The review addresses an audience interested in discovering historical places, landscapes beauties, attracted by listening to folk music concerts, to outstanding names of ethnic music, beside lovers of culture and of intellectual courses of rediscovery of people of the earth's ethnic traditions.
