The international Biennial of the sea is permanently sponsored by Unesco and its reviews take place under the high patronage of the President of the Italian Republic. Promoting partners of the Biennial are: Campania Region, the Municipality of Naples, the Province of Salerno, the Chamber of Commerce of Naples, the Shipping Authority of the Port of Naples, General Trading and Tourism Association of Naples, the entrepreneur Union of the Province of Naples and some world-famous experts in Sea problems. The Biennial was raised to the status of non-profit corporation in 1992.
