"Girotondo cambia il mondo" exhibition - Poetry what magic! Portuguese rhythms

In collaboration with the Portuguese consulate in Naples, the "Orientale" University of Naples (chair of Lusitanian language and literature, Prof. Maria Luisa Cusati), the Association Italia-Portogallo, the General management of the Book, the library of the Portuguese Culture Ministry and with the Cultural Association "Vedere per leggere" of Lisbon, the first stage of the project «Girogirotondo, cambia il mondo» 2009 offers a current survey of the Portuguese illustration and children's poetry through a selection of works, authors, illustrators that highlight the variety of languages, techniques, personal styles and actual trends, that, in accordance with a tendency spread in Europe, have had a new flourishing since the Eighties, in confirmation of how the art can turn to book and poetry to imagine.
 
A precious testimony of an Iberian civilization apparently minor in comparison with the Spanish one, but not less important. The expositive route includes an exhibition organized by Ju Godinho and Eduardo Filipe, on design by Luìs Mendonça, with catalogue by Rui Mendonça, organization and production Ver Pra Ler.

There will be about 120 original plates of thirteen illustrators, a wide selection of Portoguese children's books, with a particular attention to the poetic production. The artists are João Caetano, born in 1962, Bernardo Carvalho (1972), João Vaz de Carvalho (1958), Alain Corbel (1965), André Letria (1973), Teresa Lima (1962), Gémeo Luìs (1965), Madalena Matoso (1974) , José Miguel Ribeiro (1966), José Manuel Saraiva (1974), Marta Torrão (1974), Cristina Valadas (1965) e Danuta Wojciechowska (1960).

The exhibition includes guided tours and interactive didactic laboratories open (with reservation) to all schools of the region, organized by the female illustrators of the Association "Kolibrì"; meetings with some authors protagonists of the project; poetry readings with Italian and Portuguese writers, workshops for teachers, open contributions of the public in the proper "Angolo della rima e momenti musicali" (Place of the rhyme and musical moments).
