The knowledge of the art works through unusual tools: an olfactory route which is mixed with colours effects. Organized by the Educational Service of the Superintendency, in collaboration with the restoration Laboratory of the Naples Royal Palace.

ECHO - ISABELLA PERS

every day from 9.00 am to 7.30 pm

In November 2007, on occasion of the 2nd seminar Fastforward on New Media Art organized by PAN, a performance of Isabella Pers, called ECHO, had been proposed at the Royal Palace.
Those striking images are now reproposed in a video shot by the artist herself.
Moreover a catalogue will have delivered by the end of the video.

3rd INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION ON MONUMENTAL RESTORATION.
FROM RESTORATION TO PRESERVATION

The exhibition wants to show the present situation of restoration, through the contribution given by forty four countries: events and experiences arisen from the same need protecting and improving the
artistic heritage, using different methods and strategies and, new teaching methods in this area.
The section dedicated to Campania, in Naples: the Royal Palace, architectonic heritage of S.Domenico and S.Lorenzo Maggiore, S.Gregorio Armeno, Santa Maria della Sanità and Sant' Aniello a Caponapoli; 
in Campi Flegrei: Pozzuoli Temple- Cathedral, the Bourbonist complex at the Fusaro lake, the Aragonese Castle of Baia. 
The section organized by Naples Underground,will present projects of new rail stations.
The international section will be composed of more than 120 panels which testify the main international experiences.
The national section, with 140 panels dedicated to the strategies used by the institutions which work in the field (Superintendency, Universities and so on)

You will know the Arazzi,commissioned by Carlo III Bourbon and realized in Naples between 1758 and 1779 to furnish the Palace of Caserta's royal flats. Starting from some well known episodes of the Cervantes' novel, 38 pictorial models were transformed in Arazzi by the Royal Factory of San Carlo alle Mortelle, directed by Pietro Duranti.
Authors of the paintings were some court painters such as Bonito, Dominici, Rossi, Torre and Guastaferro.

RESTORATION WORK ON THE IMPORTANT GIOACCHINO MURAT'S STUDIO

at 11.00 am

The public will know the restoration work on the Gioacchino Murat's studio which will be carrying out in collaboration with the students of the University of Naples Suor Orsola Benincasa who are studying preservation of the cultural heritage- diagnostics and restoration.
The students involved in the project will explain the remarks made about the objects and the necessary works.

HANGING GARDEN AND BRIDGE

at 11.00 am and 4.30 pm, you will be able to visit the bridge and the hanging garden, following a route which passes by the Scalone dei Forestieri and the Neoclassical vestibule.

The cast-iron bridge, which links the hanging garden and the Appartamento Storico between them, has been recently rebuilt under the direction of the architect Enrico Guglielmo, after the original bridge (created by Gaetano Genovese) had been shattered by bombing in 1943.
