Armed forces for the art: "Archaeology which comes back"

The exhibition, hosted in the rooms of the Real Palace from May 8 to September 30, shows 68 important archaeological finds, exhibited in 13 rooms belonging to a same route which represents the activity carried out by Italian police force to protect Cultural heritage.
The exhibited works have different origins and cover a period of time from VIII century B.C to V century A.C.

The exhibition "Armed forces for the art" was born to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Italian police force for the Protection of cultural heritage. It aims to make people know the activity carried out by Italian armed forces and its units scattered in Italy, paying attention the value of our artistic heritage protected by the forces in collaboration with the Department of Cultural heritage.

To carry out this aim, the European Centre for the tourism, culture and performance, has organized 3 great exhibitions at Naples, Rome and Florence, which will be taking place all year long.
During these exhibitions you will be able to see many art works which had been taken away from Italian cultural heritage but, that Armed forces have recovered during their 40 years of activity.

 
 
Among the presents: alderman of tourism and cultural heritage Mr.Claudio Velardi, alderman of tourism and great events of Naples , Ms. Valeria Valente, Superintendent of Archaeological heritage of Naples and Pompei Mr. Pietro Giovanni Guzzo, Superintendent of Architectonic and environmental heritage arch. Stefano Gizzi, Director of Cultural and Environmental heritage arch. Pio Baldi and the chief of the Armed forces for the protection of cultural heritage,brigadier general Giovanni Nistri.
