Bruno Aller "Works from 1979 to 2009"

Castel dell'Ovo: from 6th June to 30th June

The exhibiton "Works from 1979 to 2009" is dedicated to Bruno Aller. It has been organized by Elio Rumma at Castel dell'Ovo.
Bruno Aller is a painter and engraver. He was born in 1960 and he has been working in the field of art since '70s.
The current exhibition is composed of more than 80 graphic and pictorial works and it aims to show the steps of Aller's artistic career.
The first works are dedicated to the search of the processes linked to the sign's genesis. From these works comes out the continuity between pictorial texture and the existential matter of life;
a continuum which inserts itself in a larger historical dimension, in the fragmentary vision and chaotic rhythm of the experiments in the 90s.
From mid decade, the leitmotif of paintings is the linear flow; it's a restarting of the form which finds in the portraits' geometrical scanning a new interpretation.
In this kind of production writing-sign and graphic-pictorial sign work together to evoke poets, artists and philosophers' work and life.
The portraits are accompanied by the use of letters which compose characters' name, creating a process of dismantling and reconstruction which undoes the writing's graphic connotations and creates a language made of line-drawing and chromatic drafting, from which the sign outcroppings.
