Since 1995, Movimento Aperto cultural association, which has its head office in Via Duomo 290/c, has been aiming to underline the relation between visual arts, philosophy and other arts, with an approach based on discussion and critical deepening. Exhibitions have always been introduced by a critical text written for the occasion and accompanied by debates, reading of poetries, meetings.
From this point of view, "Discussions about love" is, first and foremost, an exhibition of paintings and sculptures about eros and following an imaginary dialogue between Socrates and George Bataille and so, a moment of communication between different artists from different periods.
It's also a breathing space about the possibility of dialogue between arts and art's ability of making culture and society's changes visible. On 28 May at PAN at 6.00 pm, there will be the final event of this deep activity with the screening of "Discussions about love"; it shows paintings and sculptures realized for the community and significant fragments of the meetings which took place during the exhibition, resuming the whole project.
